Bruce's Story

Bruce had a rough start in life. He was born on the streets of Chisinau, Moldova, likely in 2020 or 2021. He grew up on the streets, fending for himself on every street corner. Then tragedy occurred in late fall 2023, when he was hit by a car. He managed to limp to a wooded area where he curled up in the snow, injured on his legs and head.

That’s where I found him, and I brought him home to feed him, clean his wounds, comfort him, and take him to the vet to be treated.  Once his treatment was finished, he came back to my home to recover, and I took him in with the hope of finding him a forever home—just as I had done for so many other dogs before. But Bruce became a member of my family.

When I married my Canadian husband, Bruce traveled from Moldova to Ottawa, Canada. He was very shy and nervous at first. Now he has plenty of dog friends and struts around the dog park without a care in the world. He’s also the boss of the house (especially the bed).
